Movies I watched in 2010

Here is a list of movies, complete with one sentence descriptions, I saw in 2010. The list is probably not comprehensive and mostly includes the ones that I watched in December and January 2011.

My Name is Khan: Touching Bollywood epic that made me smile, frown, twist my face and sigh.

Exit Through the Gift Shop: Great documentary about art hype and street art.

Dear John: Yay for Channing Tatum and long distance relationships.

Letters to Juliet: I still like the chef boyfriend.

Catfish: Awkward and touching all rapped into a delightful ride through today's internet

dating scene.

American Psycho: This movie is Christian Bale's finest hour and Newsies is not a close second.

Perfume: Super original idea based on a dark germanic book including a lovable villain and Dustin Hoffman.

The Town: About a boy who loses his dog in a town and his heartfelt search to find it.

Social Network: The trailer was the worst part of this movie.

Cyrus: Weird and not as fun or even bioptic as I had hoped.

The American: Slower than I expected because I thought it would be the fourth Bourne Identity movie.

State of Play: Twisty plot gave me kinks in my neck and thoroughly confused my brother.

In the Loop: Funniest movie I have seen complete with British snaps and jokes and fun.

True Grit: Really awesome and fun with a great ending and the actors do a great job.

I also learned a few things about choosing good movies to watch.
If you don't like the cover, you probably will not like the movie.
Tokyo Drift is still the best movie out there.
If a trailer shows a ton of short clips it is because the movie has bad dialogue.
Never see a movie because you liked the song in the Trailer. It usually is not in the movie. (Thanks Where the Wild Things Are)
Do not listen to your friends who like sports more than books when it comes to movie recommendations.
If the movie started out as a video game, you do not need to waste your time.

  2. LOL, I will watch Easy A. I cannot bring myself to watch Prince of Persia. Video game to movie = disaster.

  4. Also, I disagree with your last movie tip, cause I mean, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter both come to mind.
