So I decided to I dunno, post on this blog once more sicne I'm completely convinced that this is completely irrelevant (just like every online endeavor I involve myself in, I'm hopelessly smothered in complete anonimity it's probably cause I'm lame dunno). Anyways, I will take my time to express an artist that I have a lot of love for, Drizzy. I think haters and dumbasses might guffaw and say "wheelchair Jimmy lol" or say he's "bitch rap" whatev dude, not at all. I think Drake has brought a lot of depth into mainstream hip hop, while hip hop as a whole has always had strong artists it seems as if from the early 2000's up to just a few years ago mainstream hip hop has been, for lack of better term, dogshit. Yeah there were good albums, Kayne, Ghostface (though he really doesn't get much radio play), that dipset album, two Em albums (the rest are awful) and probably some other crap I forgot about (unlike most white hipsters I don't claim to know more about rap than everyone else, which is why nobody reads my blogs, tweets, fb status etc.) but lets think about what we had to deal with in the 00's, so-called Crunk (and Crunkcore? Does that even count as a genre), Bone Crusher, Nelly, horrible southern rap, for the most part it was awful and believe me cause I was there, it was bullshit.
But in the last few years I think mainstream rap has changed, shifted into a new more innovative direction, there is a lot more expression in these songs and I'm talking about Drizzy, Mr. Do Right and Kill Everything, Drake. Yeah we all know the background and yes I was a huge Degrassi fan, I don't care up to a certaint point it was entertaining and had some good episodes and a lot of poor acting (honestly Drake wasn't too good of an actor). This isn't about that really, but it's a testiment to Drake's skills that he can go from being on a rather poorly made cult Canadian teen drama to being the most hot shit rapper today, how many people could come up on top with such a handicap?
So screw it, I'm just gonna tell you guys Take Care is a good ass album, the beats are fresh and Drake can smash on every track, he can sing and he can flip verses with finesse and ease. I don't think I really need to get into it cause I kinda suck when it comse to writting about music, cause I think it's pretty stupid like just listen to it ya know? You could easily argue that Drake is the best mainstream rapper out there, nobody can take that crown, Jay Z is old tired and played out, Kayne is hit or miss and too mentally instable to really hold the crown, Lil' Wayne things the one word ryhmes with the exact same word he just said and yeah it's new, it's fresh and it's time to give up for "the realest niggaz in the fucking game right now" (see it isn't racist cause I put it in quotations). Not saying Drake is better than Doom, Ghost or whatever saggy ass backpack rapper whose talking about dumb crap like reading books or "getting out of the hood" but he comes damn close to even the more legit underground rappers, screw it dude, Drakes killin' it and you know it.
